Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being was born in California. Her acting career began in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for the role she wanted in Starship Troopers. It was very difficult for her to make the transition between modeling and acting because models were not thought of as actors and were mostly given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. After a while Amy made the jump into bigger roles. She starred in the 2005 love story Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than 10 years of struggling. Amy went on to star in major movies like the Crank Series with Jason Statham, and Shameless.
