Amy Smart was an American model and actress. The modeling career she began with was in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being born in California. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle to get a part, she was offered a role in the 'Starship Troopers' series the film Starship Troopers. It was difficult for her to transition to acting as models were not considered as good actors, and they typically were given less roles. Amy did her best to get noticed and eventually she was offered bigger parts beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. After a few years Amy made the jump into more leading roles. She starred in the romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy achieved the fame she'd been seeking for over 10 years when her film, Just Friends was released. Amy went on to star in major movies including the Crank Series alongside Jason Statham, and Shameless.
