Amy Smart, an American model and actress from the United States. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling professional career in Italy. She made her acting debut in the year 1996 with her debut in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get an appearance on Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. Amy had a difficult time making the switch from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as an actor of high quality. Models are often only given minor and unimportant parts. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also featured Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on larger role. Amy gained recognition after more than ten years of working. Amy continued to make important films like Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she became a cherished recurring part of the cast.
