Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is the name of a Canadian actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and made her debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. In response to an open audition call to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moved into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine, and she had no acting experience. As a teenager her family relocated into the United States. Paquin was cast as the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. In addition, she played a leading part on the screen in Fly Away Home, a movie from the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film adaptation of Carson McCullers' novels The Member of the Wedding (1997).
