April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States She is one of a small group of women who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time in Tokyo's Olympics and will attempt to win her third Olympic medal. Ross hopes to win more than her first Olympic medal. At 39, it may be her final chance. But she's still confident of achieving top honours. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even playing well I'm sure we'll get the gold medal." "I'm planning to test a little luck." Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a sister. She went on to compete in many sports in Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as track and running. But she stood out at this level. According to her biography, she was a middle blocker and outside hitting volleyball player during her high-school career. For her efforts she was named the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In addition, she was awarded the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman may have begun working together in 2017, but Ross was already an established athlete at the beach prior to when they came together. In fact, she's been able to win multiple tournaments, including one with a legendary volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and the year 2013. She also coached Klineman as well as herself. Along with Kessy Ross, she won a World Title in 2009 when she competed in the international circuit. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she retired. The pair were able to win the beach volleyball bronze at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC after high school. This was years before Ross made her debut on the sand and turned pro. Ross's Trojans experience was remarkable. In her first year at the school, 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and be an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. Her heart was broken by a tragic incident in her sophomore years, yet she managed to become an All-American once more. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. Individually she had cemented her place as a legend by winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the privilege of watching Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross lost the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to hold her lost parent near and close. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her both in and out of the water.
