Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's the co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. She emigrated to Greece to England aged 16 where she obtained a MA from Cambridge University in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it before the age of 21. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice portal that offered critiques of the politics. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna's fame began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her 12th in its list for the Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the president of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. Even though she was close to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the rest of her life. She displayed leadership qualities throughout her childhood. At the age of 16 her family moved in England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate group. The third female president and first foreigner, she was the president of Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. In the years following after graduation she worked as a critic columnist and television host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
