Sheryl Underwood is a American television host, comedian and actor most well-known for her role as host of the popular daily talk show The Talk. Sheryl was born in Arkansas and has been raised In Little Rock, Atwater and Atwater. Sheryl has a troubled family. She spent most of her early years caring for her younger sister Frankie suffering from Polio. Growing up, she had difficulties between her parents. Sheryl stated that at one time, her mother stabbed the father of her child as she got close to her. Sheryl joined military after graduating from college. Her passion was comedy. In 1989, she was the first woman in history to reach the finals in the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. She began her TV career in 1992 after she made a cameo appearance as a frequent guest for the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam. In 2000, she was host of The show Oh Drama! Since 2011, she has been appearing as a co-host on The Talk, a talk show. The Talk. The actress has appeared on fictional programs like Bulworth Nikki, Beauty Shop and others.
