Fawn Mckay
Fawn MCK Brodie was born on the 15th of September 1915 at Ogden Utah. Reared in the Mormon Church's original family Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative literary talents and remarkable researching skills in the creation of the brilliant psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title"No Man is able to know My History. The title was inspired by the title of a sermon that Joseph Smith delivered in 1844. In the sermon, he shocked his hearers with the statement: You don't know me, and have not heard my voice. Nobody has heard of my life. It's impossible for me to reveal it. Fawn an older woman, aged 29 said: "Since that moment of honesty at least three scores writers have taken on the task." Some have deified and abused the man, and others have attempted to diagnose the cause. The problem isn't that there aren't enough documents but rather they are wildly divergent. Compiling these documents - - by sifting through third-party and first-hand sources, and integrating Mormons' narratives to non-Mormons' into an authentic historical context - can be a challenge. This is both exciting, and also instructive. This is the kind of task to which Fawn Brodie devoted herself professionally. Her writings and research brought her fame around all over the globe: Thaddeus Stephens. The DevilDrives. Thomas Jefferson. The Intimate Histories (1974) as well as Richard Nixon.
